The Storm has Passed
Written on: Friday, December 11, 2009 Time: 7:55 AM
Yeah, I'm gonna post a list to my playlist during the whole semester thing. It really helps. A mix of pop punk, along with grunge - a bit angsty but I don't give a damn - and some light crunk really lifts your mood up. And guess what, listening to rock increases your enthusiasm, or something like that. And pop punk... it's just because. Crunk? Who doesn't want to dance their ass off sometimes? *grins*
Below each songs are parts of the lyrics, which I feel the need to include. Just showing that somehow I managed to memorize all of them during the process.
1. Five Minutes to Midnight - Boys Like Girls 'And when the clock strucks twelve will you find another boy to go and kiss and tell?'
2. August is Over - We the Kings 'Breathe in deep and say goodbye, the saddest song I'll ever write.' 'August is over, we're not the reason.'
3. The Good Life - Three Days Grace 'All I want is a little of the good life'
4. My Number One - Hayley Williams 'I wish I could tell you what I feel, and show what's inside of me is real'
5. Japanese Girl - Metro Station 'Don't say you love me 'cause you sound so vain.'
6. Poppin' Champagne - All Time Low 'You've got me poppin' champagne' 'Lately I've been wishing the television set would show me more than just a picture of the things I've gone to detest'
7. Action - Death Note III OST (No lyrics. It's instrumental only.)
8. I Hate Everything About You - Three Days Grace 'Every time we lie awake, after every hit we take, every feeling that I get, but I haven't missed you yet.'
9. Starstrukk (Remix) - 3OH!3 feat. Katy Perry 'You know that talk is shit; just don't work on me,'
10. All I Wanted - Paramore 'And maybe then we'd remember to slow down on all of our favorite parts.'
11. Check Yes Juliet - We the Kings 'Check yes Juliet, kill the limbo, I'll keep tossing rocks at your window.'
12. Let it Die - Three Days Grace 'We had fire in our eyes; in the beginning I never felt so alive...'
13. Heartbeat - Stereo Skyline 'So baby keep my heart beat, b-beat, beat, beating.' 'For every grain of sand that you drew me pictures in, there was one for every time did my, my heart dropped again.'
14. Break - Three Days Grace 'Tonight, I stopped the fire. Tonight I break away.'
15. Untouched - The Veronicas 'And you and I are meant to be so even if the world falls down today you've still got me to hold you up up and I will never let you down.'
16. Starstrukk - 3OH!3 'L-O-V-E is just another word I'll never learn to pronounce'
17. Stop This Song (Lovesick Melody) - Paramore 'You say the sweetest things that I can't keep my heart from singing...'
18. Where the Lines Overlap - Paramore 'Call me over, and tell me how you got this far while never making a single sound.'
19. Lost in You - Three Days Grace 'You always though that I let myself open, but you didn't know I was already broken.'
20. Shake and Shout - Stereo Skyline 'I'll watch you dance around to New Found Glory on the frontseat of my car.'
21. Near No Theme - Death Note III OST (No lyrics. It's instrumental only.)
22. My Paper Heart - All American Rejects 'Please just don't play with me, my paper heart will bleed. This wait for destiny won't do, be with me please I beseech you.'
23. Never Too Late - Three Days Grace 'This world will never be what I expected, and if I don't belong...'
24. Wake Up - Three Days Grace 'I must be running out of luck, 'cause you're not drunk enough to fuck.'
25. Six Feet Under the Stars - All Time Low 'Time to lay claim to the evidence, fingerprints sold me out. But our footprints washed away from the docks downtown, it's been getting late for days and I think myself deserving of a little time off.' 'Meet me on Thames street, I'll take you out though I'm hardly worth your time.' 'In the cold, you look so fierce but I'm warming up, because the tension's like a fire.' 'We'll hit South Broadway in a matter of minutes and like a bad movie I'll drop a line; fall in the grave I've been digging myself' 'But there's room for two; six feet under the stars' 'If not for you I know I'd tear this place to the ground.' 'Overdressed and underaged. Do you really need to see an ID? This is embarrassing as hell! But I can cover for it so well, when we're six feet under the stars.'
...Yes. I'm in love with 'Six Feet Under the Stars'. But I can't help it, the song's just too damn pretty! Reminds me of New York *points at Thames street and South Broadway parts* and that game, The Godfather: Blackhand Edition. And Aldo Trapani. Everytime it's played I was reminded of the streets of Midtown, the car chase, those Barzini and Cuneo bitches - scratch that, Tattaglia and Stracci are a pain in the ass too - and those heartwarming moments of victory after bombing compounds.
But it also gives me a warm feeling, of being told 'everything's fine and dandy'. Like no matter what you do it doesn't really matter, as long as you had a good reason to do it.
'Wake Up', and 'I Hate Everything About You' simply reminds me of certain things. The latter also reminds me of me and my sis. Seriously, I could hate her for life and yet I couldn't. The former, however, reminds me of something else.
'Never Too Late'. That song is very, heartfelt. Sometimes it bores me to death, sometimes it fascinates me to no end.
'My Paper Heart', 'Lost in You', 'Heartbeat', 'My Number One' and actually 'On Top of the World' reminds me of my current OTP; a free spirited gogglehead and a stoic, adorable albino. Or they could make great songfics. I could feel it somehow, a nice fluff or maybe a friendship fic. Nah, dunno. *shrugs*
'Japanese Girl', 'Shake and Shout', 'Check Yes Juliet' and 'Five Minutes to Midnight' are just fillers. Y'know, something to listen to without having concerns about the meaning. And it's very light, so I love it.
'Where the Lines Overlap' is my 'HAPPY AS A SUNSHINE AND RAINBOW PUPPIES' theme.
'August is Over' is.. Yeah. Summer. And it's WINTER now. I hate it.
'Untouched' is the most serious song in the playlist. I mean, the lyrics, the music, it fits perfectly. You can feel the passion, the frustration, the angst, the (false) hope, the light innocence, inside them. It's beautiful, and there's a lot of things to be told from it. Telling someone to stay has never been this angsty.
'Let it Die' and 'All I Wanted' was just a filler. Instead of light hearted ones, I chose something a bit more, deep.
'Break' is a great song. Three Day Grace's first single from their new album, Life Starts Now. It's still dark, but with a lighter tone. A bit rebellious instead a vent of anger towards humanity.
'The Good Life' is a piece of badass-ness. Yeah, I could totally imagine hanging out and being all high and mighty. Now I know why Mello likes it.
'Starstrukk' and its remix version are something you could dance to. Maybe not as hard as when you listen to the remixed version of 'Football Season is Over' by Bring Me the Horizon, but it should get your head bopping.
'Near No Theme' is that song that plays every time Near's in action. In the DN anime of course. I could just imagine him being all smart and make remarks to Light imagaY.
'Action'. There's a lot of things to be said about this song, and a lot of them are related to a certain third ranked Wammy boy. Yes, this was the song playing through his epic death scene. A nice, electro beat. Kinda like the ones in Tap Tap Revenge, only better. His death is very heartbreaking. He fell down, after being caught in a blaze of gunfires, and die; his last cigarette burned on his pale lips. His body was ridden with bullets, and I don't know if his goggles cracked or not, but I think it none was aimed to his face. It reminds me of Sonny Corleone's death, when he was shot to death on a tollway, while he was in a rage after hearing his sister, Connie, got beaten up by her son of a bitch husband. I love that scene too. A slight twist in 'The Godfather' that changes everything.
So yeah. That's the end of it. I wish you all good luck on the results. And if my heart actually dropped, I'd listen to BMTH and wear black clothing. Nahh, just kidding!Labels: matt, matt/near, mello, near, playlist
